Membership Types, Fees, and Benefits

There are two member categories: Executive Members and Associate Members.

A “Member” is defined as any company or entity that has been accepted into one of SCAN’s types of memberships, has agreed to comply with these Bylaws and all applicable SCAN policies, and remains in good standing through the payment of dues (if applicable) and adherence to SCAN’s requirements. Membership in SCAN is limited to companies certified under the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program, or an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program in a country under a Mutual Recognition Arrangement with the United States or under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the SCAN Association.  The AEO certified company must have its AEO certification under the security component of the AEO program.

Executive Memberships:

  1. Executive CTPAT Importer Members: CTPAT Members engaged in the direct importation of goods across borders, and with a particular interest in advancing SCAN’s stated purpose and mission, shall be eligible to be an Executive CTPAT Member.
  2. Executive Global AEO Importer Members: Global Importer Members of an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program under a Mutual Recognition Arrangement with the Unites States or AEO importers operating in a country under a Memorandum of Understanding with the SCAN Association, engaged in the direct importation of goods across borders, and with a particular interest in advancing SCAN’s stated purpose and mission, shall be eligible to be an Executive Global AEO Importer Member.

Executive Memberships Fee: $3,500 USD Annually 

Executive Membership Benefits Include:

  • Increased organizational efficiency allows resources that are dedicated to current audit programs to refocus their attention on other internal priorities
  • Access to a globally accepted standard for supply chain security criteria, streamlining audit reporting across industries
  • Standardized corrective action plans for consistent supplier expectations
  • An automated solution for sharing audit results while maintaining confidentiality
  • Access to best practice solutions for managing global supply chain security
  • Global business partner mapping and an audit repository for all business partners within the supply chain
  • Addressing climate change: SCAN members can demonstrate to government agencies, customers, and sustainability partners that they are proactively addressing climate change by adopting SCAN’s virtual or immersive audits, thereby reducing greenhouse‑gas emissions while maintaining high standards of supply‑chain security and compliance.

 

Associate Memberships:

  1. Associate Manufacturer Member: For SCAN purposes, a manufacturer is any business entity that performs the primary activities of producing, fabricating, assembling, or otherwise transforming raw materials, components, or parts into partial or finished goods and whose manufactured goods are intended for export outside the country of production.
  2. Associate Transportation Member: Any entity or company engaged in the transportation or storage of goods with a particular interest in advancing SCAN’s mission shall be eligible to be an Associate Transportation Member of SCAN.

Associate Memberships Fee: $1,000 USD Annually

Associate Membership Benefits Include:

  • Less frequency of supply chain security audit requests
  • Elimination of audit fatigue
  • Reduced overall audit costs due to fewer audit requests
  • A set standard for supply chain security audit requirements and corrective action plans
  • Addressing climate change: SCAN members can demonstrate to government agencies, customers, and sustainability partners that they are proactively addressing climate change by adopting SCAN’s virtual or immersive audits, thereby reducing greenhouse‑gas emissions while maintaining high standards of supply‑chain security and compliance.
